Cancer testimonials
NYT story on claims by cancer centers: According to the FTC, it won't apply its endorsement rules to ads for cancer centers, further increasing the gap between what a medical institution can say and what a drug or device manufacturer can say--sometimes about the same equipment/treatments. I find it hard to imagine that the general substantiation requirement doesn't apply to hospital ads, though the story says it doesn't.
