Grandmothers are doing it for themselves

Oral histories, that is, posted on YouTube (link to NYT story). I had no idea that YouTube included a vast new archive of oral history, and obviously trained interviewers would ask different questions, but it's an amazing potential resource.

The question is, who will preserve it and catalog it for historical uses? As my historian husband points out, this isn't a history question as much as it is a library question.
