This
photo essay shows Mexican immigrants in well-known superhero costumes. Photographer Dulce Pinzón wanted to raise questions about our definitions of heroism and the invisibility of immigrant labor. The title, "The Real Story of the Superheroes," shows that when it comes to titles and other expressive uses of trademarked icons, only words as explicit as "authorized" and "official" ought to trigger any control by the trademark owner. Reality and truth are for all of us.
